How to use — step by step
Turn a raw screenshot into the polished version you see in good social posts: rounded corners, a soft shadow, a gradient backdrop.
- Drop an image on the box, click to browse, or simply paste with Ctrl/⌘+V straight from your screenshot tool.
- Pick a background preset — sunset, ocean, mint, dusk, flat paper — or choose Custom and set your own two gradient colors.
- Adjust padding: more padding frames the shot with more gradient; less keeps it tight.
- Set the corner radius to taste — 12–18 px is the standard app-window look — and toggle the soft shadow.
- Press Download PNG. Export at 2× for crisp retina posting; the preview stays 1× for speed.
How it works
Everything renders on an HTML canvas in your browser. The pipeline: size the canvas to the image plus padding on all sides, paint a linear gradient (or flat color) as the backdrop, draw a soft drop shadow with the canvas shadow API, then clip the image to a rounded rectangle and composite it over the top. Export re-runs the same pipeline at the chosen scale so the download is sharp, not an upscaled preview.
Because it's local compositing, your screenshot never uploads — which matters more than it seems, since screenshots routinely contain email names, order details, or internal dashboards.
Design defaults are chosen for social feeds: gradient direction runs diagonally for depth, the shadow sits low and soft like a light from above, and the radius echoes modern OS window corners. Restraint beats decoration — a plain paper preset with a strong screenshot often outperforms a loud gradient.
Composition guidance: padding between 6–12% reads as intentional framing; below 4% looks accidental, above 15% looks like a poster of a small screenshot. Keep one gradient style across a thread or campaign — three different backgrounds in one carousel reads as three different tools made it. And when in doubt, the paper preset plus a strong shadow is the little-black-dress of screenshot posts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I paste from my screenshot tool?
Take the screenshot (⌘⇧4 / Win+Shift+S), then just press Ctrl/⌘+V on this page. The paste handler grabs the image from the clipboard.
What resolution should I export?
2× for Retina/hi-dpi feeds (most platforms), 1× when the platform recompresses aggressively anyway. The PNG export is lossless either way.
Can I add text or arrows?
Not here — this is a framer, not an editor. Annotate first in your screenshot tool, then paste the finished image.
Is there a size limit?
Only your browser's memory. Very large (4K+) screenshots export slower; the preview always shows at 1× regardless.
What format is the export?
PNG — lossless, so the screenshot's text stays crisp after platform recompression. JPEG would smear 1-px text edges.
Can I beautify several screenshots at once?
One at a time by design — each gets its own framing choices. For identical settings across a batch, do them sequentially; the settings persist until you change them.
Why does my export look softer than the original?
You exported at 1×. Choose 2× for retina feeds — the preview is 1× by design, the download follows the scale setting.
