How to use — step by step
A professional invoice in a couple of minutes: fill the form, check the live preview, print to PDF. Free and unlimited — no account, no watermark, no three-invoice paywall.
- Fill in your business details, then the client's.
- Set the invoice number, currency, issue date and due date.
- List the items: description, quantity, unit price. Add rows as needed; totals, tax and the grand total compute live in the preview.
- Set a tax percentage if it applies (leave 0 if you're not registered to charge tax, or if the platform handles it).
- Write your notes — payment terms, bank details, a thank-you line.
- Press Print / Save as PDF and choose your printer's 'Save as PDF' destination. The form and chrome disappear; only the invoice prints.
How it works
The preview is the document — every keystroke re-renders it, so what you see is literally what prints. Totals are straightforward arithmetic: subtotal is the sum of quantity × unit price, tax is its percentage, and the grand total is the sum; the tax row hides itself entirely at 0% rather than printing '$0.00'.
Your draft saves automatically to this browser's local storage after every change — close the tab, come back tomorrow, and the invoice is still here. It never travels anywhere: no server holds your client names or amounts, which makes the tool safe for real client work on a shared computer as long as you clear the form (or browser data) when done.
Print styling strips everything except the invoice sheet — no headers, buttons or ads — and the result is a clean, standard document any accounting workflow accepts.
Invoice numbering is worth a system from invoice one: INV-2026-001 style (year-based, zero-padded) sorts naturally, never collides across years, and auditors love it. Never reuse a number, even after a mistake — cancel the wrong one with a credit note mentality and issue the next. The draft auto-save makes number discipline easy: the counter lives in your history, not your memory.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my invoice data stored?
Only in this browser's local storage, on this device. Clearing the form or your browser data removes it. There is no cloud copy — which also means no backup: keep the printed PDFs.
Is the currency symbol just cosmetic?
Yes — it prefixes numbers for display and printing. Amounts are not converted between currencies.
Can I add my logo?
The current template is text-based for maximum print compatibility. Keep a branded letterhead workflow if logos are essential.
Is a generated invoice legally valid?
It's a document you created — the same as one typed in Word. Requirements for invoices (tax numbers, required wording) vary by jurisdiction; this tool doesn't enforce any of them.
Can I bill a deposit or partial payment?
Two ways: a line item named 'Deposit (50%)' with the appropriate amount, or separate invoices. For progress billing, keep one invoice per milestone with its own number.
What do I write when an invoice is overdue?
Short and factual: reference the invoice number and due date, re-attach the PDF, offer the payment route again. The Notes field is for terms before sending; overdue chases are separate emails.
I already sent the PDF and spot an error. Can I fix it?
Fix the form and reissue with a new number, marking it as a corrected invoice. Editing history after sending is how bookkeeping goes sideways.
