URL slug generator

Titles in, clean URL slugs out — accents transliterated, spaces hyphenated, ready for product URLs and blog posts.

—

Accents are transliterated (é→e, ü→ue convention available via the accent mode), everything lowercases, and runs of separators collapse to one hyphen.

How it works

Slugs are built by transliterating accented characters to their ASCII equivalents (NFD decomposition + stripping diacritics), lowercasing, replacing anything that isn't a letter, number or space with nothing, and joining words with single hyphens. The result is safe for URLs, filenames and platform listing handles.

Frequently asked questions

Should slugs include SEO keywords?

Short, descriptive slugs read better in search results and are easier to link. Two to five meaningful words beat either a full sentence or a string of numbers.

Do slugs need to stay unique?

On most platforms the CMS enforces uniqueness by appending a number. Generate, paste, and let the platform adjust if it collides.
