JPG, PNG, WebP. One image at a time, processed locally.
Downsizing is high quality; heavy upscaling adds blur (the tool will resize, but detail can't be invented). PNG ignores the quality setting — it's lossless.
How it works
The image is drawn onto a canvas at your target dimensions and re-encoded in the chosen format. Aspect lock recalculates the height whenever the width changes (and vice versa) from the original image's ratio, so nothing stretches. Re-encoding through a canvas also strips EXIF metadata — including GPS — which is usually desirable for public listings.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my PNG get bigger?
PNG is lossless: quality doesn't apply, and re-encoding can add overhead. For photos use JPEG or WebP; keep PNG for line art and transparency.
Can I upscale?
You can, but enlarging beyond the original size blurs — no algorithm invents detail. Keep the target at or below the original.
Is the EXIF removed?
Yes — canvas re-encoding drops all metadata, including GPS coordinates. Good for public listings.
