CSV cleaner
Trim stray spaces, drop empty rows and columns, remove duplicate records — with a change summary so you know exactly what moved. Safe defaults, nothing uploaded.

How it works
Two safe operations are on by default: trimming whitespace (including invisible non-breaking spaces that spreadsheet exports love to insert) and removing rows that are completely empty. Both are reversible in the sense that they only remove characters and rows that carried no data. Deduplication and empty-column removal are opt-in because they change row and column counts — the summary tells you how many of each were removed before you download.
The parser is full RFC-4180 style: quoted fields, embedded commas and line breaks all survive cleaning. The original file stays on your disk untouched; the tool only produces a new download, named yourfile-cleaned.csv.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a duplicate?
Every cell identical to an earlier row, compared after trimming. The first occurrence is kept.
Will it fix my quoting problems?
Yes on re-export: fields are re-quoted by the rules (quotes only when the value contains the delimiter, a quote or a newline), so inconsistent hand-quoting gets normalized.
Large files?
Comfortable into the tens of thousands of rows. Beyond that the textarea display becomes the bottleneck — download the result instead of reading it.
Can I change the output delimiter?
Yes — pick comma, semicolon or tab next to the download button.
